Straightening out the Season...

Among the never ending round-about of seasonal high-fashion runway shows, debut collections, standout emerging designers, scandals, drama and the continual write offs between journalists and bloggers, sometime it’s hard to keep up. The fashion industry’s appeal lies in its ability to continuously reinvent itself, the innovation, creatively and fluidity of design is what keeps us interested and excited, but there are days where it’s all just a little too much and the fashion wonderland that we know and love, suddenly becomes an out of control spinning top. What better way to calm the confusion than a flick through Purple’s Best of Season section, highlighting this season’s most coveted looks in the most outrageously fabulous way possible. 

Daria Strokous: Putting the Intensity in Elegance

With her sultry innocence, translucently porcelain skin and natural un-done charm, Daria Strokous’ distinctive allure has the power to evoke that little green-eyed monster in even the most undesiring of fans. Through her quirky, left of centre aesthetic, Daria possesses the innate ability to represent a girlish purity of elegance and grace, supporting her fragility with unexpected strength and intensity. Rocking an off-duty, low-key style, as envious as her high fashion look, this Russia model is cementing her name within a multitude of creative industries. 

Career Change Please!

Over the years there has been, Milla Jovovich, Gemma Ward, Agyness Deyn, Natalia Vodianova and more recently Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, but this season marks the notable shift of two high-fashion, high-profile models jumping ship from the fashion pack as they test the waters in the film industry. Sasha Pivovarova will play Justin Timberlake’s mother-in-law in sci-fi thriller, In Time, while Daria Strokous makes an appearance in the all-star thriller, Contagion. Although they’re not turning their backs on the fashion world just yet, (well I sincerely hope not!), these two leading ladies are sure to make the silver screen just that little bit more glamorous as they add some style to the cinema… But for now, we wait in anticipation for their fashionable debuts.
