Sarah Burton’s creative genius has allowed her to achieve the almost impossible. She has stepped into the virtually unfillable shoes of the label’s mastermind, and continued it’s innovative, unconventional and truly magnificent aesthetic. Her unique talent, imperative role in the fashion industry and distinguishable ability to influence and inspire was officially validated this week, as she took home the Designer of the Year award at the 2011 British Fashion Awards.
“She, [Burton], has allowed McQueen’s legacy to live on while still giving her own twist of creative genius to a collection that has outshone its rivals on and off the catwalk.” - British Fashion Council.
