Monday from Hell!

Hands up if you had a monday from hell? (FYI, both my arms, and my feet are in the air, today was most definitely not a good day!)
You know those days where everything and anything goes wrong? Well I've been experiencing worst case scenarios since 5:00am this morning, and quite frankly, I'm done!
I refuse to go to sleep, until I somehow turn this day around, and salvage at least one positive, so I've compiled a little list of Monday life savers, to get anyone else out there through the last few hours of this dreaded day…

Neon: Seriously is there anything greater in the fashion world at the moment? I think not! Neon madness has taken over, giving us the perfect excuse to indulge in uber-brights in the midst of the unavoidable winter darkness.

Macaroons: I really don't think these even need an explanation… they're sweet, soft and indulgent and come in a array of tempting pastels.

The half up half down: This not quite up, not quite down do is 100% fabulous and looks like something straight from the pages of a '90s 'how to guide,' what's not to love?

Sparklers: If I even have to explain the joys of writing your name with a sparkler, then I'm afraid your case of mondayitise is just too far gone!

Candy coloured tips: With innovations like KEVIN.MURPHY's COLOUR.BUG, you can now change your hair colour as often as you change your shoes. Thank you Kevin, we love you!

A long highway of abandonment: OK OK, so I know deserted highways don't usually have a high fashion goddess in tow, but hey a girl can dream right?

Here's hoping to a fabulous Tuesday! Sweet Dreams Lovers

Mondays with MYF

There's nothing I love more than a understated, low key editorial, compiling a sense of effortless cool with a casual, nonchalant aesthetic, one that focusses predominantly on the raw energy, pure emotion and natural, unaltered lighting.
"if you see her say hello," features the enchanting Myf Shepherd for LoveWant Magazine, styled and photographed by the ever-so-casually-creative duo, Imogene Barron and Bec Parsons.
The editorial's genius lies in its ability to pose the possibility that Myf was captured in a completely natural and unaware state, as though she was simply moseying around her apartment on a lazy sunday afternoon, oblivious to her fabulousness. The unkept hair, odd socks and integration of high fashion with underwear only adds fuel to the fire, letting us truly believe we've in fact been invited into Myf's mysterious world as she jumps coyly on her bed and playfully entices us around her home.

Imogene Barron: The Creative Multi-Tasker

It seems there is no fashion stone the innovative Imogene Barron will leave unturned. The exceptionally talented stylist is leaving her mark all over the fashion industry as she conquers creative pursuit after pursuit, with no area off limits. In addition to producing her biannual fashion, art and music magazine, LoveWant, directing a music video, collaborating with fashion label Bassike and producing another personal magazine due out in 2012, Imogene has recently launched an online diary titled, Some Kind Of Life, which features her never ending collection of polaroids. The site is the epitome of Imogene’s trademark style, encompassing gritty, raw emotions, and moments of pure reality.

Anything but Ordinary

Inspired by music and street culture, Imogene Barron has a unique ability to mix high-end street wear with vintage glamour, creating a signature style that is recognisably her and screams of understated cool. This coveted Sydney stylist has contributed to RUSSH, KAREN and Grazia UK and worked as the Fashion Director for Yen, Dazed & Confused Australia and currently Oyster, while also sporadically publishing her own cult experimental magazine, LOVEWANT. However, despite this illustrious career portfolio Imogene maintains a reputation for being distinctly anti-fashion.

Imogene’s effortless style and innovative, creative approach, results in a unique, low-fi, gritty aesthetic that is evident in all of her work. Her extreme talent has the ability to re-work and mould the entire look of a magazine, shaping and changing its creative direction, (case in point, Oyster).

Her aspiring images and distinct direction is a breath of fresh air in today’s overly saturated editorial market. Imogene has the ability to think outside the stock standard look, instead creating eclectic, undone images that leave you wanting more. Her flawless styling and oh my god moments create an ideal that picture perfect isn’t always pretty, nor should it have to be, it’s grudge meets tailored, with the occasional mickey mouse jumper and without a doubt it’s always magnificent!
“Music and street culture are a huge influence on my work; I find them constantly inspiring. It doesn’t date like fashion does and I would hate to push an expiry date on the magazine. These days, print has become something you want to treasure and keep forever.”- Imogene Barron
Imogene Barron is anything by ordinary and thank god for that!
