Paris Fashion Week, is its usual whirlwind of shows, collections, designers, amazing street style and celebrity front-rowers and its charging forward at a rapid pace. Before you get too teary about the end of yet another season, embrace the magical moments as they happen, the goods keep on coming with some high fashion high profile design houses still yet to show…
YSL- Bohemian Fantasy
Billowing blouses, detailed jackets, elaborate coats, sharp, structured skirts and pants and low slung belted waist lines, created a ‘60s vibe at YSL, channelling the eras of mod right through to bohemian freedom. The collection showcased structured designs and dramatic volume, with particular emphasis placed on the tailoring of the jackets and detail of the sleeves and shoulders. The evening wear provided two options, one channelling bohemian chic, consisting of white tops and longs skirts in a paisley like print Stefano Pilati drew himself, while the other reflected a look of highly glamorised design resulting in a pair of embellished black gowns.
Chloé- Femininity and Fluidity…
Fluidity and femininity were the key words for Clare Waight Keller’s debut at Chloé. The collection was a breath of fresh air, literally, (Waight Keller removed the roof on the stifling tent in the Tuileries Gardens ), as the natural light and breeze worked to complement the label’s carefree disposition. Pleats, a-line shapes, neutral earthy tones, belted dresses and the fashion houses staple wide leg trousers, worked together to covey a clean, fresh collection of femininity and ease. Waight Keller’s extensive study of Lagerfeld’s hay day at Chloé, was also evident, resulting in the beautiful use of embroidery.
Still yet to come... my all time favs, Chanel and McQueen! The countdown is on and I am even contemplating waking up at 3:30am for McQueen!
